east-tec Eraser Version 6.0 was released on February 1, 2005.
- New built-in Scheduler, offers you more flexibility to schedule your most frequently used tasks in Eraser at specified moments (for example, when the computer is not used so intensively, or at times when the computer has been idle for a number of minutes, so it will not interfere with your work).
- Anti-Surprise (Anti-Boss or Panic) Key, helps you hide what you are doing by just using a combination of keys from your keyboard. This allows you to close all open windows and immediately run east-tec Eraser 2005 with preselected options (e.g. erase your Internet traces in stealth mode) with just a combination of keys.
- Permission Management feature - users will have limited permissions for using east-tec Eraser 2005, depending on the rights assigned by an administrator.
- New applications - Windows Media Player 10, Google Desktop, PaintShop Pro 9, Mozilla Thunderbird, eDonkey, Xolox, Music Match Jukebox 9 and others. Plus updated applications - Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer, MSN Messenger, Outlook Express 6, Eudora, AOL Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and more.
- New product activation system - protect your investment and stop software piracy with the new activation system implemented in Eraser. Prevent others from illegally using your paid copy of Eraser.
- New upgrade notification - keep your copy of east-tec Eraser up-to-date by having the product automatically and periodically check for updates.
- Privacy Guard easier to use - by having two modes in which the feature can be run: Basic (for most users) - runs all pre-configured options and Advanced (for advanced users) - be able to set your own options.
- New Wipe Methods - Russian GOST P50739-95, German VSItR.
- Process priority management - establish how much of the processor's capability will be used for east-tec Eraser 2005.
- Upgrade protection of your applications within Privacy Guard. When a new version, that comes with updated applications for Privacy Guard, is installed, only the settings for the new applications will be reset (because it comes with new options), all the others remain intact.
