What kind of computers/systems can I erase with east-tec DisposeSecure?

You can sanitize hard drives on any PC, the operating system is not a factor in the operation of east-tec DisposeSecure, however it has to be on an Intel 80386 compatible computer. The operating system can be any version of Windows (8/7/Vista/XP Home/XP Pro/2003 Server/2000/NT/Me/98/95/3.1), Linux (any distribution), FreeBSD, Solaris (except SPARC), SCO UNIX, UNIXWARE, OS/2, BeOS, etc.

IMPORTANT NOTE: east-tec DisposeSecure is distributed together with a console used to create the bootable disks and this can only be installed on Windows systems. After you create the bootable disks, you can use them to wipe computers regardless of the operating system, as described above.

What happens after running east-tec DisposeSecure?

IMPORTANT: Please ensure you have the operating system installation disk before running east-tec DisposeSecure.

After sanitizing your hard drive with east-tec DisposeSecure, it will be like a new (unpartitioned and unformatted) hard drive. To be able to use your hard drive again, you must create partitions and format them with any file system you want (or leave the Windows XP/Vista/7/8 installation CD/DVD do this automatically for you, when you install the operating system).
