Needless to say, the Internet contributes to our lives in so many ways. Information exchange, social networking, business, or even booking a last minute holiday: it all happens online. Surfing the web, however, leaves traces behind. Invisible to our eyes, but collected by small files, called cookies. Whether they turn into a monster threatening our online privacy or stay helpful often remains unknown to the user.
So what’s a cookie for? It’s used to help websites remember your preferences and other information about you, so that they can easily provide relevant content to you next time you visit. It can be your username and password, for example, so you don’t have to enter them each time. However, cookies can be of a different kind, too.
Today we’re pleased to offer you two new members of our security family: east-tec InvisibleSecrets and east-tec SafeBit. We have been creating privacy and security products and solutions for the last 15 years, since the end of 1997. Today we are expanding our product line with two encryption and steganography products, designed to prevent unwanted people from reading your private documents and files.
East-Tec has acquired these two top class security products from Neobyte Solutions, which has been developing and improving them since 1999. Eugen Malita, our CEO, explains:
“We’re happy to provide our customers with top-class encryption and steganography software. We have received a lot of requests from them, so we hope we are making their wishes come true!”
We are very pleased to announce the launch of our new brand website. Wrapped in a more intuitive and modern design, the new East-Tec website has a lot of new and interesting content for you, structured in a very well organized format, to offer you solutions to improve your privacy protection.
New logo, and new design
We have redesigned almost everything, while keeping our brand identity intact. Our new east-tec logo has a fresh and modern look and emphasizes the fact that we’ve been offering privacy protection software since 1997. Without animations and things to slow down the website, our simple yet modern design will make you feel comfortable while browsing our pages.
east-tec Eraser is recommended in the first issue of the Cyber Defense Magazine, and featured in the spotlight in the magazine’s Cyber Defense Test Labs. Cyber Defense Magazine was launched at the RSA Conference 2013, in San Francisco.
The magazine’s editors believe that
“this product truly cleans your ‘cookie crumbs’ and we mean more than web browser cookies. If you run Windows, this is the must-have utility”.
Cyber Defense Magazine (CDM) is written by ethical, honest, passionate information security professionals for IT Security professionals. The magazine’s mission is to share cutting edge knowledge, real world stories and independent lab reviews on the best ideas, products and services in the information technology industry. CDM has established a partnership with the University of Massachuset (UMASS) at Lowell, Massachusetts, USA to create the Cyber Defense Test Labs (CDTL) which performs independent lab reviews of next generation INFOSEC products for the magazine.
